Drafted in a voluminous A-line silhouette with knife pleats all around, our Pleated Swing Skirt features an all-over print of a part of a set of sailing charts, known as the Mao Kun Map (茅坤), purportedly based on the 15th century expeditions of the Indian Ocean by Ming dynasty explorer Admiral Zheng He. This map originates from the 1420s and is the only known cartographic work that mentions “Temasek” (淡马锡) – Singapore’s former name as recognised by the Javanese Majapahit Empire.
Designed to sit just at the waistline, the structure of this 100% cotton skirt elevates this design.
Also available in Light Topography.
Our Pleated Swing Skirt features:
- Left side-seam invisible YKK zip with two Loop and Buttons
- Knife pleats all around
- Finishings (French seam finishing for the sides; Double hem finishing for the bottom hem)
Reckless Ericka has the permission to reproduce part of the Mao Kun Map (茅坤), from the National Library of Singapore.
