The Story

This dress features an empire line cut – fitted bodice and falling loosely under the bust – which is universally flattering and lengthening. Comfortable and non-restrictive, simply drawstring and cinch the bustline for a fitted bodice. This is especially great for petite or curvy ladies who want to redirect attention from waist or hips to the bust.

A fantastic choice for warm weather, dress down with strappy sandals or sneakers and a baseball cap, or dress up with heels or booties and a fedora. Layering bangles and arm candies does a great job of enhancing the arm-lengthening effect this empire-line silhouette tends to have.

The Print

“The world is blue at its edges and in its depths. This blue is the light that got lost. Light at the blue end of the spectrum does not travel the whole distance from the sun to us.” – The Blue of Distance by Rebecca Solnit, from A Field Guide for Getting Lost

For EDGES, I was inspired by The Blue of Distance by Rebecca Solnit, from A Field Guide for Getting Lost. This was the first print digitally painted for this collection, “Longing”.

The sophisticated blues are set against the subtle, muted ecru base. Letting my emotions flow the way I want to and the way I see in wild abandon is exhilarating and rewarding.
