Behind This Season

/HARVEST/

a celebration of abundance, grace, and the quiet power of waiting fulfilled. This is the season where seeds sown in faith blossom, spilling colour and richness into every corner of the landscape.

/ Introduction /

The collection unfurls like a garden at sunrise, where tropical heat hums softly against the lush foliage, and the air is perfumed with ripe fruits and sea breezes. The vibrant chaos of life in the city—markets bustling with citrus and mango, shadowed green parks breaking through the skyline—finds its way into each silhouette, print, and hue. HARVEST is where the beauty of wild things meets the refinement of intentionality.

Botanical motifs rooted in John Taggart’s quiet evocation of “Orange Berries Dark Green Leaves” draw the eye into a world of textures and contrasts—ripe, radiant, and grounded in depth. Like the orange fruit that emerges from accumulated darkness, these designs are a reminder that life’s sweetest moments are birthed through perseverance and patience. The mid-century undertones of the collection carry the elegance of retro-feminism, reinterpreted with a contemporary softness that speaks to the enduring strength of femininity.

“Even if I knew that tomorrow the world would go to pieces, I would still plant my apple tree.”

― Martin Luther

Emily Dickinson’s “The Trees like Tassels — hit — and swung”, echoes here in pieces that swing with movement, grace, and a touch of whimsy. There is a sense of rhythm and a deliberate cadence in every drape. Warm yellows and deep greens evoke the fertile richness of the earth, while saturated oranges and muted reds reflect a sky at the edge of twilight—colours pulled from the cinematic palettes of Chungking Express and Edward Hopper’s A Woman in the Sun.

And then, there is the heart of the collection— HARVEST as abundance, as love multiplied, as carrying ‘the root of the root and the bud of the bud’, as E.E. Cummings so tenderly wrote in “i carry your heart with me”. It’s the feeling of cradling life’s treasures close, of knowing that what is sown in quiet faith will bloom in unspeakable joy.

These pieces tell stories of orchards growing under skies that hide the sun, yet never wholly extinguish its light. They speak of the everyday bustle that carries a rhythm of renewal. They carry the mystery of seasons flowing into one another, and the bittersweet beauty of blossoms daring to unfold despite the risk. In the folds of a skirt, the sweep of a sleeve, the soft weight of fabric against skin, lies the invitation to embrace this abundance. Each garment is a tassel, a berry, a fragment of the harvest—a symbol of what it means to live fully in the midst of blessings pouring down like wine from the hills.
