/ OUR DESIGN PROCESS /
At Reckless Ericka, our process is rooted in intention, responsibility, and respect for both people and planet. Each line drawn, each fabric chosen, each silhouette shaped is part of a thoughtful system that values longevity over trends and meaning over excess.
THE MOOD BOARD
Every design begins with a concept that answers more than “what’s in season.”
It starts with a deeper question:
"Why should this piece exist?"

We begin by creating a Moodboard:
A curated blend of pictures, textures, colours, and cultural references. Drawn from a scene in a movie, a poem, a book, or a fleeting moment on the street.

Our collections are born from themes anchored in our surroundings, often grounded in Singaporean culture, community, nature, art, film and poetry.
From taking inspiration from Singapore's national flower in BEHOLD, celebrating abundance in HARVEST, to the nostalgic folklore found in REMEMBRANCE and REFRACTION, each theme honours our roots while designing for the future.
THE SKETCHES

Sketches translate concept into form, exploring how aesthetics and cultural relevance can co-exist: Our iconic Fit and Flare, the regal Qipao and elegant Full Circle Skirts, each look is carefully selected to reflect bold femininity.

Fit & Flare
Fitted on the upper torso, cinched at the waist, and flaring from the waist to the hem. The sculpted bodice and full skirt offer a flattering shape that moves with ease, balancing structured elegance with effortless grace.

Carefully considered to complement each silhouette and elevate everyday wear, our design details carry meaning.
We chose these details not for ornamentation, but for how they serve the garment’s story: Balancing heritage, functionality, and a sense of refinement that lasts beyond seasons.

Micro Chinese Collar
A modern interpretation of a classic, symbolising elegance and grace, the Chinese Collar detail grounds our modern pieces in a deep-rooted tradition.

THE FUNCTIONALITY
Designing for everyday wear means considering how a garment moves, fits, and functions in real life. Our design touches, from deep pockets to carefully placed buttons, are deliberate and thoughtful choices that make a real difference.

Deep Pockets
Our pockets are not decorative, but also generously sized and thoughtfully placed across all designs, giving you space to carry what matters without disrupting the silhouette.

Elastic Waistbands
Built for comfort and ease, the elastic waistbands offer gentle stretch that moves with you, supporting flexibility while keeping the fit flattering. We have also double stitched it so the elastic will never twist and can last for a long time.

Buttons with Intention
Every button is placed with intention, adjusted to how the garment moves and rests on the body, ensuring it stays secure and sits just right, without disrupting the silhouette.
These subtle choices reflect our belief: form should follow function beautifully.
Because good design isn’t just about how it looks, but how it lives.

Our process is not rushed. It’s a slow unfolding, a conversation between fabric, form, and feeling. This is design with presence. And it begins with care.
